We are happy to announce that we have a new volunteer program that we are starting from April 28th 2017 for a minimum of two months.

You will learn hands on many aspects of earthbag construction whilst we build a house for a new Karuna resident Ashwin, who is from Bangalore. We are building the house using sustainable techniques and depending on when you are here will see many stages of earthbag construction.

This is an amazing way to build, and also one of the cheapest. We have received 100's of requests from people over the years who wish to learn how to build eco homes on very low budgets of 5-10 Lakhs. Earthbag construction is one approach that can deliver this. If you are thinking of building for yourself one day, then this is a rare opportunity not to be missed!

You must volunteer for a minimum of four days and will be provided a bed in our dormitory and three meals a day for 200 Per night. We are unable to offer totally free stay as it costs us more than paying our labour.

Our expectations are that you are working as part of a group and a team. We try to encourage a group dynamic. You are required to work 6 days a week for around 6 hours per day on average. Evenings and Sunday's are generally time to do with as you please.

There may be educational movies and other activities happening organically.

Please note spaces are strictly limited and therefore there you must book in advance.

Please call Murugesh the evening before you arrive to arrange transport from Kodaikanal on (0)9865 151047. For more travel information click here.

Please book a volunteer bed below on your preferred dates.
